Organ Meats
Jared Ramirez, CEO of Enviromedica, brings his expertise and knowledge to another episode of One Life Radio. Today we're discussing the benefits of organ meats and the importance of sourcing. His company, Enviromedica, has developed a line of organ meat supplements. We can get the nutritional benefits of organ meats without digging into a plate of brain, pancreas or intestine, just to name a few. I don't know about you, but I'll take an ethically sourced, fully tested food-based supplement over a plate of pancreas any day!Ramirez explains why organ meats are so important for overall health. Our diet has evolved and changed over thousands of years, and not for the better. Our foods are over-processed and our farms are over utilized, stripping them of the vitamin-rich soil of our ancestors. It's going to take time and effort to change our current food supply system. But, it is possible to get the health benefits of our ancestral diet, even today.Bernadette and Ramirez go on to discuss the importance of Vitamin A and D in our diets. He says that Vitamin A and D are considered "partner nutrients", meaning both are needed to protect the body from potential toxicity from the other. If you're on the current Vitamin D bandwagon, you'll want to listen to the full interview. You can also visit enviromedica.com to learn more about their organ meat supplements.
To Stretch or Not to Stretch?
Cody Myler, aka the "Keto Cowboy" wants to stretch our imagination and our muscles! Stretching pushes blood through the muscles, which gives us the sensation of relaxation while helping protect our muscles from potential injuries. But, did you know that you can be too flexible? Myler says we must find our happy medium in regard to our stretching needs. Yes, stretching can hurt, but listen to your body to know the difference between a "good" stretch and a "bad" one. And, if you're working towards a specific goal such as a body-building competition or dance routine, there are specific stretch routines designed around the goal you’re wanting to achieve. For a general rule, Myler recommends stretching at least three times per week for 15 minutes at a time. He recommends youtube for free tutorials and routines. If you have a question for Cody, or want to learn more about his personal workout, message him on instagram @myler_flex or visit mylerflex.com.
